Crazy Life!

We haven't written on here for awhile as life as been filled with all sorts of craziness! Missy's Spring term got up and running in January with 9 credits of class. She is currently doing a 20 hour a week Student Teaching Practicum at Nancy Ryles Elementary in a 3rd grade classroom. She is enjoying spending time with the little ones and has already been included in one of the student's writer's workshop stories!

On top of that she is still working at Bethany Christian Services as the International Adoption Specialist which keeps her very busy as well! She is looking forward to the days where she isn't going in 100 directions :)

We are highly involved with Young life at Southridge High School and have been since Summer of 2007. We've enjoyed working with such great kids and meeting with them weekly. Our volunteer time includes many weekend trips to various camps around Oregon including Breakaway Lodge in Gerhart and Wildhorse Canyon in Antelope.

Brandon is currently gearing up to take his huge LEED Certification exam. The study books are the biggest ones I've ever seen! I have no idea how people are expected to remember the things he does.

Well, thats all for now! Hopefully it'll be less time between posts.

First Entry!

Hi All,

So this is our first ever blog! Hopefully you find it an easy way to know what we're up to these days! Our life is pretty crazy right now but very rewarding.

For the past year or so Brandon and I have been enjoying serving as volunteer Young Life Leaders at Southridge High School who by the way just won the State Championship in Football! Woohoo!!! We spent a week at Wildhorse Canyon, the Young Life camp in Antelope, Oregon with a group of students. We feel very blessed to have the opportunity to work such amazing kids.

Since graduating from Oregon State in 2006, Brandon has been working for Hoffman Construction as a Project Engineer. His current project takes him out to the Troutdale/Gresham area each day out at Mt. Hood Medical Legacy Hospital. His project entails an expansion to the Emergency Department along with a remodel of the current Emergency Department. The project is going well but does have its challenges.

I have been with Bethany Christian Services for over a year and a half now as an International Adoption Specialist. I have really enjoyed working for this agency and being a part of finding forever families for children. Other news, I am over halfway done with my graduate program and expect to graduate April of 2010. For those of you who didn’t know, I am working towards my Master’s in School Counseling and plan on getting licensed for K-12th grade. This winter-spring I will complete my teaching practicum portion of my program. I have been placed at Nancy Ryles Elementary, in Beaverton where I’ll be in a third grade classroom.

We’ll have to wait and see what 2009 will bring for the Corwins. We both hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
